Came across an article that is great for anyone who is looking to buy a home. Although this article is targeted to a U.S audience, a lot of what it says holds true for Canadians. For those of you unfamiliar with what "HOA" costs are, they are the equivalent to "monthly maintence fees" when buying into a strata property (condo). Also, keep in mind, when asking to look at minutes from a strata, you will be receiving 2 years worth, not just 6 months. Some minor differences in terminology but all geared towards the same idea......and that's finding out the condition of what you're purchasing (from financials, problems with the buidling (if any), how they deal with issues, upcoming work etc).
If there is anything YOU want to know more about or would like to know the process of buying a home, I'd love to hear from you!
